Installation of the Coordination and Monitoring Committee of the national strategy to combat money laundering, terrorist financing, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and corruption
On Thursday, February 3, the Minister of State, Pierre Dartout, chaired the first meeting of the Coordination and Monitoring Committee of the national strategy against money laundering, terrorist financing, proliferation of weapons of mass destruction and corruption. During this plenary session, the Government Councillor - Minister of Finance and Economy, Jean Castellini, presented the national strategy, recalling that it is based on the guiding principles of prevention, deterrence, national coordination and international cooperation.
To ensure its effective implementation, the Committee is composed of two colleges. On the one hand, the representatives of the institutions: the National Council, the Secretary of State for Justice, the Directorate of Judicial Services, the Government Councillors - Ministers of Finance and Economy, of the Interior, of External Relations and Cooperation, the Public Prosecutor, the Director of the Service of Information and Control on Financial Circuits, the Controller General of Public Security, the Director of the Budget and Treasury, the Director of Economic Expansion, the Director of Tax Services, the Secretary General of the Commission de Contrôle des Activités Financières, the Head of the Gaming Control Department and the French Customs Office of Monaco. On the other hand, the representatives of the professions subject to the anti-money laundering legislation: the Ordre des Experts-Comptables et Comptables Agréés de Monaco, the Ordre des Avocatsdéfenseurs et Avocats, the Association Monégasque des Activités Financières, the Association Monégasque des Compliance Officers de Monaco, the Chambre Immobilière Monégasque, the Association Monégasque des Professionnels en Administration des Structures Etrangères, the Fédération des Entreprises Monégasques, the Union des Commerçants et des Artisans de Monaco and the Chambre Monégasque de l'Horlogerie et de la Joaillerie.
The Secretariat of the Committee is provided by SICCFIN whose Director, Michel Hunault, is in charge of monitoring the strategy. On this occasion, the Government indicated that the Committee is a place of exchange, dialogue and consultation, oriented towards a common objective of implementing the national strategy for the period 2022-2024 and recalled that the National Strategy is a priority in accordance with the guidelines set by H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince.
